China dyes Export Data and Overseas Market Expansion

China has firmly established itself as the world's largest producer, consumer, and exporter of dyes, with annual dye output exceeding 900,000 tons. Exports have become a crucial pillar of demand, reaching 272,000 tons in 2024 (up 11% year‑on‑year), with a compound annual growth rate of 7.51% from 2020 to 2025.

From January to April 2026, China exported 94,214 tons of synthetic organic dyes, a year‑on‑year increase of 5.9%; export value reached US$428 million, up 8.3% year‑on‑year.

Among the more than 130 countries and regions to which China directly exports dyes, exports to Bangladesh have consistently ranked among the top four, reaching 23,000 tons in 2024. At the same time, the industry is promoting joint overseas ventures by dye, pigment, and auxiliary enterprises at all levels of the value chain, developing clusters and jointly building overseas fine chemical industrial parks in locations such as Binh Duong (Vietnam) and Bandung (Indonesia) to achieve resource sharing, capacity coordination, and risk sharing.

In terms of international exhibitions, the 25th China International Dye Industry and Organic Pigments, Textile Chemicals Exhibition was held in Shanghai in May 2026, bringing together over 650 leading industry enterprises from around the world. In July 2026, the 11th Pakistan International Dye Industry and Organic Pigments, Textile Chemicals Exhibition will be held in Lahore. In December 2026, the Asian tour of the China International Dye Industry Exhibition will again be held in India.
